Centeem is committed to making its digital services accessible to everyone, including people with visual, hearing, motor or cognitive disabilities. This document describes our accessibility approach, its current state, and the reporting channels.
1. Our commitment
We design the Centeem website and mobile application to follow international digital accessibility recommendations, in particular:
- WCAG 2.1 level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) — the global benchmark for the web
- WAI-ARIA for the semantic enrichment of interactive components
- Apple HIG and Material Design for native iOS/Android accessibility patterns
Accessibility is an ongoing process. We continuously improve, and all your feedback is valuable to us.
2. Available accessibility features
Website (centeem.com)
- Full keyboard navigation (Tab / Shift+Tab / Enter / Escape)
- Semantic HTML5 tags (header, nav, main, article, footer)
- Color contrast compliant with WCAG AA (ratio ≥ 4.5:1 for text)
- Aria-labels on all icon links and buttons without text
- Aria-hidden on decorative elements (gradients, purely visual glyphs)
- Alt text on all content images
- Visible focus on all interactive elements
- 200% zoom without loss of functionality
- 3 languages: French, Arabic (RTL), English — to reduce the language barrier
Mobile application
- VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android) supported on the main screens
- Adjustable font sizes based on system settings
- Native dark mode (auto Dark Mode based on system settings)
- High contrast respected according to system accessibility preferences
- Haptic feedback on important actions (payment confirmed, error)
- Voice confirmations (push notifications read aloud)
3. Current conformance status
The site and app are in partial conformance with the WCAG 2.1 level AA recommendations. We identify and fix non-conformities across releases.
Areas of improvement in progress
- Framer Motion animations: adding
prefers-reduced-motionsupport - Presentation videos: adding automatic FR/AR/EN subtitles
- Help screenshots: improving descriptive alt text
- Mobile app: full accessibility audit planned for Q3 2026 by an external firm
- Pricing comparison table: adding an alternative « list » version for screen readers
4. Help for people with difficulties
To open an account
If you cannot complete the KYC process on your own (national ID scan, selfie), you can:
- Ask a relative for assistance with the technical step
- Visit a Centeem partner agent who can assist you
- Contact our support by phone (number coming soon) who will guide you step by step
For visually impaired users
Enable VoiceOver (iOS) or TalkBack (Android) before launching the app. All critical screens (balance, payment, withdrawal) are annotated. Numbers are read digit by digit to avoid confusion (e.g. « 5,000 » read as « five thousand » and not « fifty zero zero »).
For hearing-impaired users
All critical confirmations (payment received, withdrawal validated) are available as: (1) text push notification, (2) haptic feedback, (3) email. No important information is conveyed by sound alone.
For users with reduced mobility
Biometrics (Face ID, fingerprint) make it possible to avoid entering the 6-digit PIN for everyday operations. If you can use neither biometrics nor enter the PIN, contact support for an alternative procedure.
5. Report an accessibility difficulty
If you encounter a difficulty accessing a feature, contact us via:
- Email: accessibilite@centeem.com
- Form: our contact page with the subject « Accessibility »
- Response time: 5 business days
Describe precisely: the browser or app used, your assistive technology (screen reader, magnifier, voice command...), the page or action concerned, and the observed behavior.
6. Recourse
If you believe our services are not accessible despite our efforts, you can contact:
- Our complaints service with the subject « Accessibility »
- The Algerian Ministry of Digitalization and Statistics which oversees the accessibility of public and private digital services
- Any organization advocating for people with disabilities in Algeria
7. External audit and continuous improvement
We plan an external accessibility audit by a specialized firm in Q3 2026, after the public beta launch. The report will be published on this page. All identified gaps will be fixed within 6 months according to their priority.
Centeem aims to be the most accessible Algerian financial application — for everyone, without exception. If you have concrete suggestions to help us get there, don't hesitate to write to us.
